The city of Helsinki needed to find the most effective way to appropriately manage the uncertain effects of a dockless technology for e-scooters, understand of the interactions between micro- mobility and public transport usage and whether micro- mobility was contributing to sustainable transport habits in the city. With anonymized data from the two major micro-mobility operators in Helsinki, Tier and Voi, our platform enabled the city to take decisions for the location of mobility hubs, parking stations and cycling infrastructure and reinforced the City’s confidence that micro-mobility was contributing to sustainable transport.
